We were lucky enough to travel to San Diego, California this past summer, my FIRST time in California. Let me tell you, I LOVED it there. If you have never been to California, put it on your list! It is such a great place to explore, relax and indulge, the atmosphere is simply amazing.
We saw as many places as possible while we were there for the week, visiting recommended attractions and touring a bit of the coastline, but it was that beautiful sunshine, and sea air that made the trip for me.
We rented a car for a day to travel at our leisure up and down the coastline a little bit, and even though it was the ONE cloudy day we had, it was amazing. Sandy beaches, little resort style beaches, and miles of cliff coast.
We stayed right on the San Diego Bay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, in the Gas Lamp Quarter. It’s a fairly touristy spot, but it didn’t feel over run with visitors at all. We took a short ferry ride over to Coronado Island and this is the view looking back towards the area we stayed in.
For some reason all the vegetation caught my attention and I ended up with countless photos of trees, shrubs, bushes and cacti….we even visited the Botanical Building at Balboa Park.
We visited so many great spots on this trip, I’ll have to break it up into a few posts! The overall atmosphere was so refreshing, and that sunshine, it really just pours vitamin D into ya, and gives you allllll the happy feels. Basically just GO TO CALIFORNIA! I can hardly wait to go back.
