Paint color can really go a long way! The initial color choice for this space was a repeat from the dining room space in a previous home. It was loved in that space so why not? Here was the result:
Here is a shot after the construction was completed. The carpeting was immediately replaced with hardwood. The surface trim that added wall detail to the original design was removed and the walls were patched. New wainscoting was added to the bottom 3/4 of the room. Benjamin Moore’s Snowfall White is the trim color in this space, and the upper walls are finished in Benjamin Moore’s Summer Harvest.
Many design boards followed, planning details to finish off the space. For those of you who have been following the blog since the early days you might recall the debate over this space.
Although I love all these scenarios, sometimes you find this one perfect piece that changes the direction of a space entirely. In this case it was the discovery of a black and white area rug. The design was gorgeous, the price was right…..but the color of the room had to be changed. Here is the result:
One room, two ways!……you never know where you might end up.
